What do you do when you write an email? You go to your mail overview and... see that Jean-Pierre has finally answered! You don't control your curiosity and go check it out anyway because that will only be those 3 seconds and... before you know it, other emails also pull you into the mailbox and suddenly you wonder what did I actually come here to do? Do you know what I was actually working on?
Sound familiar -whether or not to you or to others you know-? The mailbox distracts you -incentives-, you switch to another task in which you delve into and hopla, you've
left.They don't have me lying around anymore!
That does not happen to me! or Gosh, for those few minutes, that's how my mailbox even runs out. Your own free choice!
If you want to get rid of it, use keyboard shortcuts! You can use keyboard shortcuts anywhere in Outlook - whether you're in mail, calendar, contacts or where ever - so you won't be distracted anymore

CTRL+SH+M, pressed simultaneously, to create a... Mail
CTRL+SH+A to create a... A appointment in your A calendar
and to create a task, it's... CTRL+SH+K from task K - well, Bill Gates is a joke.
And you can do this wherever you are in your Outlook. It may sound tiny, but experience shows that this requires little effort with great effect: among other things; rest, speed and... no longer giving up control
!
How to keep your focus too:
- stay out of your mailbox: start in your agenda!
- keep focus: turn off distractions!
- work from a tidy platform, ensure oversight, view over!
- do you also want an empty inbox: grab = decide!
